pretty much a transition day...we got up early to leave Kaikoura at 8.30 on our way to Picton (link) to catch the ferry heading to NZ's capital: Wellington (link).
It's been a beatiful drive along the coastline albeit we heard another Stray bus had an accident yesterday late noon. The busdriver wanted to give way to a car but the surface didn't carry the weight so it rolled down a cliff for about 15m...an one traveller's life was ended...u never know when fate strikes...at the moment we (Lena, I and a couple other Stray people) are waiting to get on board and already consider to take a plane for the way back (soundsair - link- Wellington to Picton for 79$ instead of 57$ for the ferry)...boarding time!
We finished up the day by climbing up Mount Victoria (link - a fairly steap ascend) to enjoy the sunset above Wellington.
